Student Grievance Redressal Policy
In line with the UGC (Redressal of Grievances of Students) Regulations, 2023
1. Objective
To provide students with a fair, transparent, impartial and timely mechanism for the redressal of their genuine grievances, and to promote a student-friendly institutional environment based on transparency and accountability.
2. Scope
This policy covers grievances of students relating to academic, administrative, infrastructural, examination, hostel, or other student-related matters.
Complaints relating to sexual harassment are dealt with by the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) under the POSH Policy, and complaints relating to ragging by the Anti-Ragging Committee.
3. Redressal Mechanism
Grievances are examined by the Student Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC), which functions in accordance with applicable regulatory provisions and institutional policies.
4. Procedure
- Submission: The student submits the grievance in writing or by email to complaint.chws@its.edu.in, mentioning name, course, semester, roll number, contact details and a clear description of the grievance with supporting documents, if any.
- Examination: The SGRC examines the grievance and may call the student and other concerned persons to present their side.
- Decision: The committee communicates its decision to the student in writing in accordance with the prescribed procedure.
- Appeal: A student not satisfied with the decision may seek further redressal as provided under the UGC (Redressal of Grievances of Students) Regulations, 2023.
5. Principles
- Grievances are handled with confidentiality, fairness and due process.
- No student shall be victimised for raising a genuine grievance.
- Students are encouraged to use the grievance mechanism whenever they encounter issues that require formal institutional intervention.
